Mountain Medicine

An escape to the mountains will cure what ails you.

Tree-lined trails

Rocks to hop

Cool, shady pools

Misting waterfalls

Bridges; both man-made...

and natural

The tools of a rod, line, & fly

And just enough trout

The perfect reset to close out summer.

Last weekend's trip to North Carolina was welcomed. There's just something soothing about returning to the cool of high gradient trout streams and spending some quality time with no agenda.

Solitude can be your best friend. A friend you don't get to visit that often, but once reunited, your familiar conversation picks up just where it left off.

Shear bliss. You are very fortunate to enjoy such scenery. A trout is a bonus.

  2. Mike this post is like a comforting rub of the back. I hope others reading this will see just what solitude in the natural world can for ones well being.
I'm glad you were able to spend some time in the woods and streams.

Beautiful images of a place any avid fly fisherman would love to fish-----thanks for sharing

    1. No doubt Bill... there's all kinds of water to fish, but few prettier than mountain streams.

    1. Thanks Jason. Definitely is more to fishing than just fishing, even when you have a rod in hand. People just need to slow down enough to let it all sink in.

  9. Beautiful images, Michael! Great to see you getting out there and enjoying yourself. Really envious of the trip you had in the mountains. I think I can hear them calling my name...or is it the beach...or is it the GF yelling my name because I ate all of her leftovers in the fridge. Ruh-oh! :)
