Tenkara Tuesday - The Golden Globe Awards

Welcome to Tenkara Tuesday...

The Golden Globe Awards were on the other night. I didn't watch them, (c'mon now, Finding Bigfoot was on TV), but lots of people seem to be talking about them. La La Land evidently won all of the big movie awards which is good for them. I'm certain it's no Rogue One, but as far as feature films go, I'm sure it's great.

Now you or I could go to the theaters and buy tickets for La La Land...or just watch the rad videos I've embedded below. They aren't new. If you're one of my regular Tenkara Tuesday readers, you've probably viewed them before. Some, possibly several times. That said, even today, they're still just as effective in getting my tenkara juices going as when they were first released back in 2009. Congrats Daniel Galhardo & Tenkara USA, you've won the Troutrageous! "Lifetime Achievement Award for Best Foreign Fishing-Style Film."

I can't go fishing today, so I'm going to watch them all again too. Please join me.

    1. Right? Cool to see how much has changed (& stayed the same) since 2009.

  2. Nice clips... Agreed, Finding Bigfoot is must see tv ;). I'm always truly amazed at how certain they are that "evidence" is from a bigfoot.

  3. Lately I've watched 4 episodes of Josh Gates on the Travel Channel and 3 on National Geographic Channel and they still haven't found Bigfoot. Speaking of Bigfoot, what happened to Tenkara Sasquatch?

    1. That's a very good question. Tenkara Sasquatch must be in hiding or something. I hear those bigfeet are very elusive.

    1. I love westerns too. On a bit of a "frontier & western" kick as of late myself. Not the necessarily the same genre, but I'll lump them together. Re-watched Jeremiah Johnson the other day, as did the Lone Ranger remake from 2013. Haven't seen the new Magnificent Seven yet, but did take in Hateful 8 on Netflix recently. I love Quentin Tarantino movies. Downloaded the Newman/Redford Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid over the holidays too.

  5. Sorry, Michael, but if Emma Stone is on TV, I have no choice but to watch...

Thank you for the series of videos, though! I've been craving an intro to Tenkara, and this looks like just the ticket to get my two young teenagers fishing with me on the small Driftless streams this coming spring.

Speaking of Driftless, do you have plans to come back this way for the Midwest Tenkara Fest this year? If so, let's make plans to meet up somehow!

    1. Cool, glad you liked them. They're the original videos, sort of the gateway drug to tenkara for many of us fond of the telescoping rods.

Not certain if I'm making it to MWTF yet. I have some conflicts at the end of May beginning of June that may preclude me from doing so. Trying to make it work though, I love fishing that area of the country. I'll let you know (and you'll probably see here) if it ends up being in the cards or not.
