The first email was from Mepps. It was primarily pimping their new Muskie Killer spinner, but honestly I was more interested in their EZ-Scaler widget from their Mr. Twister line. It's like electric knife blades or something. I dunno...there's a video. Which proves it works at least better than a spoon.
What else...oh, online fishing friend "Crappie Keith" has a new storefront for selling his T.H.E. Jig. The acronym means "Totally Hot Everyday" which also happens to be how I describe myself, especially when I'm wearing my retro Nike Dunks and Redington trucker hat.
Speaking of totally hot...what about these special edition Oakley sunglasses from Leland Fly Fishing! Are they worth watching an almost 3 minute video about?...probably not...but hey, I'll post it anyway for your polarized viewing pleasure...
Another video came from the Delaware Riverkeeper. It's a short produced by Josh Fox of Gasland fame highlighting an anti-fracking rally in Trenton, NJ to save the Delaware River from gas drilling & "fracking" pressure. It's topical because the Delaware River Basin Commission will vote on October 21st on regulations that would permit over 20,000 gas wells in the river basin. Not good. Not good at all...
To close, blog love. This week's blog love has nothing to do with my email inbox, but have you read The Tailing Loop lately? If not, you should...there's all kinds of fishing goodness, a cool new logo, but probably most important, it's where you'll find Tucker the Trout Dog, a canine that clearly has a superior nose for fine reading material...
Well played Tucker |
In an uncommon move for this typically "last minute" blog, I actually started writing this post last weekend to get a jump on a week of serious nighttime TV watching (Go Phillies!). Appears some other blog most of you probably never heard of also decided to give The Tailing Loop some blog love this past Monday. Oh well, it is what it is...when it rains it pours...
That is one handy dandy scaler for sure, to bad I only fish for trout cause than I might have a need for it. You just never know what you will find in your inbox.

ReplyDeleteYeah...9 outta every 10 emails is garbage...but every now and then a winner comes through!
Hey Mike, really love the way you keep your Blog fresh and interesting. Especially enjoyed Tucker The Trout Dog, looks like he has good taste in magazines.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work on your wonderful Blog.

Oh and I had to switch to Firefox to post this comment, would not let me post in IE 8. Time to drop kick Blogger into the river !!!

@Mike
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment & comment...however it's your own fault for using IE8. Yuk. Don't you know all the cool kids use Google Chrome? Sometimes "Blogspot" deserves the Camel Clutch, but I figure if it's good enough for TFM, it's good enough for me.
Ok...now you need to make a "to do" list for the Phillies! Lol..
