    1. Not that I know of, probably tough fishing though...I mean with all that "cloudy" water.

  5. Sadly **** happens, but at least they got on it before it caused too much damage. The fact that no fish were killed (at least yet) is good for the outlook. One hopes for the best in a situation like this.

  6. The poo might not kill the fish - but I wouldn't wanna eat 'em or touch them after their poo dunking, at least not for a long while.

Every time it rains hard in Portland, their sewers over flow right into the Willamette River, and an advisory goes out not to boat/swim/fish or otherwise touch the water for a few days. The brown trout you catch in there aren't the browns you wanna catch...

    1. This creek has a history of PCB problems, so nobody's eating them. I just hope some signs or something are put up. A lot of people walk their dogs on the nearby trails and let them run in the water to cool off or drink. Yuck.

    2. The poo doesn't kill the fish. The poo is full of ammonia and other chemicals. Within hours, the ammonia is converted to nitrates and nitrites and some pretty awful algal blooms begin.

And THOSE kill plenty of trout.

    3. Algal blooms. Those sound tasty.

  7. Oh no big deal... That creek was polluted anyway <- answer from a "fly fisherman" my wife works with.

I won't say Valley is great for catching pigs and I may have a good track record of getting skunked there a lot but this story makes me so mad I could puke. I hope it doesn't screw that place up. It's too dern pretty!

The fact that there is a sewage spill in Valley Forge national park and next to no one gives a flying $%%^ about it is ridiculous.

It's cool America go back to reading about Reece Witherspoon getting knocked up. Some blue collar dude will clean up the $%%^ stain on George Washington's historic campsite.
