Social Media - Yet Another Reason Why Klout Is Stupid

If you squinted hard enough to read that first Klout "Notification," no, that wasn't Photoshopped.
To quote:
"Klout believes you are influential in Congress."

Let that soak in for a minute.

(Putting Klout's ridiculously erratic scoring method aside), if that is true, America has far more to worry about than we thought...

+Ks & T! stickers for everyone!

Postscript:
Have no idea what Klout is or why I'm doling out +Ks?  No, it has nothing to do with cereal or Marts, and don't worry, most people haven't heard about it either.  Just uber dorks like me.  If you want to learn more about it, click here, but be forewarned, you're probably better off not getting involved in such shenanigans and tomfoolery.

  2. Klout scores are absolutely silly. I check it maybe every couple of months and it is always the same. Higher than it should be! Ha. Stupid is right.

    1. I don't even care about the main score itself (it clearly gives twitter activity precedence over anything else), I just wonder why of all the things I write about, why it picks the things it does.

  3. The only thing I really, really, really don't like about Klout (and what keeps me from going there and using it more often) is the incredibly annoying multiple pop-ups every time you log-in. I want to throw my laptop across the room. Just when you think you've closed the last on..BAM...another one. Just me?

If Klout were accurate, I'd be influential in "Making a blog plateau"

    1. The fact the site is so damn slow is worse than the popups in my opinion.

  4. And the thing is, you can't fix stupid. Stupid is forever.

  5. I agree Klout is stupid, but just like marketers use Nielsen to choose where they spend their ad dollars on tv, they need a cheat sheet for spending money in social. Sucks, but it's reality, so you need to pay attn to it.

    1. The fact that they openly say they only gather data from certain social networks (even though you can link many more to your account) proves how bogus it is. Somebody can build a better mousetrap.

  6. So wait, .....socal...Klout is the new Google?

  7. Upon further review my klout was once 21 and since sagged to an abismal 19. And apparently 50 is a tough number to crack
